I've been to Venice twice and pigeons just freak me out. Now what is cool that most Venetians don't agree with is when St. Mark's Square floods. I only had to deal with this on the off season and I can see it being obnoxious if it was every day of our stay, but walking across raised sidewalks (aka planks of wobbly wood) or better yet, tromping through the water in waders (sadly I'd left mine at home) like the locals sure was cool to experience. I can't even imagine if our 2 year old had been with us though. I would have been screaming "no, don't touch that," or "aw man. You are soaked with canal water. Gross." the whole trip 😉
